One of the first things people want to know before booking a gutter clean is how long it will take. The honest answer is that it depends on your property, but most residential jobs are completed in one to two hours.
A typical semi-detached or terraced house with standard-length guttering and moderate debris will usually take around 45 minutes to an hour. This includes the initial inspection, the cleaning and vacuuming, downpipe flushing, and the final check.
Larger properties take longer. A detached four-bedroom house with guttering on all sides, plus a garage and conservatory, might take 90 minutes to two hours. Farmhouses and period properties with complex rooflines and multiple gutter runs can take two to three hours.
The condition of your gutters also affects the time required. If your gutters have not been cleaned for several years and are packed with compacted debris, the cleaning process takes longer than a routine maintenance clean. First-time cleans are almost always slower than follow-up visits.
Height is another factor. While our ground-based vacuum system is efficient on most properties, very tall buildings or properties with difficult access may require additional equipment setup time.
We always aim to work efficiently without rushing. Cutting corners to save time is not something we do — we would rather spend an extra 15 minutes to make sure every section is thoroughly cleaned than leave a partially blocked gutter.
